I've managed to do a little reading so far this New Year.
One series I wrapped up is the Anomaly Trilogy by Krista McGee. The series is a bit like Hunger Games or Divergent, but with Christian themes and not a lot of violence. Refreshing.
In the third book,
Revolutionary, our heroine Thalli is back at the State and being used as leverage by the head of the State, Dr. Loudin. Also caught with her are Alex and Berk, the two young men she has feelings for. Will they be able to stop the State from overthrowing the surviving towns? How many more lives will Thalli see lost? Will Thalli loose her still new faith in the Designer?
I polished off two Brandilyn Collins books:
Dark Justice and
Sidetracked.
Dark Justice is about a woman, going about her life with her dementia ridden mother when she stops to help an injured man and falls into a terrorist conspiracy. Plagued by false FBI agents, law enforcement officers who may or may not be out to get her, trying to keep her mother and daughter safe - all while reluctantly persuing the breadcrumbs to prevent the terrorist from turing off the nations electricity. As with all Brandilyn Collins's books, fast-paced and exciting till the end.
What would you do if it was you in the middle of such a scenario?
The second stand-alone book
Sidetracked is about a woman and that murder seems to follow her. Delanie has carved out a new life for herself in sleep Redbud, Kentucky and is doing well. Until she discovers her friend's body on her way home. Delanie is quickly pulled into the police investigation when she and the sheriff stand off about who the murder suspect is. Pursing justice may mean Delanie gives up the safety of her secret life and her past may come rushing back and bring condemnation of those around her.
Would you give up your "secure" life for another?
